Job Description:

We are seeking passionate and dedicated tutors to join our Sylvan Learning team. As a Sylvan Learning Tutor, you will work in a 3:1 learning environment with students to help them reach their academic goals. You will provide individualized instruction and create a positive learning environment that motivates students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized tutoring in subjects such as Math, Reading, Writing, Study Skills, and Test Prep.
  • Monitor and track student progress, so Directors can provide meaningful feedback to parents as needed.
  • Foster a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning environment.
  • Help students develop effective study habits and build academic confidence.
  • Follow Sylvan’s proven programs and methods to deliver consistent results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or working towards) in Education, Math, English, or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Passionate about helping students succeed.
  • Ability to adapt to various learning styles and needs.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and professional.
  • Must be available to work evenings (4:30-7:30pm) and some Saturday mornings - Summer hours will provide opportunity for morning availability.
