Career Area Marketing Job Summary Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a distinguished Product Marketing Consultant to oversee the strategic marketing initiatives and execution for a newly developed ERP/CRM platform based on Microsoft Dynamics 365, designed specifically for Caterpillar Dealers. The role focuses on developing and executing go‑to‑market plans for the platform, translating technical capabilities into clear benefits, and launching campaigns that excite and enable dealers. You will create engaging, concise content across websites, blogs, emails, presentations, and other channels, ensuring messaging resonates with dealership leaders and sales teams. What You Will Do Go‑to‑Market Strategy: formulate and administer comprehensive product marketing strategies for the ERP/CRM platform, translating technical specs into customer‑oriented advantages and coordinating launch campaigns to enhance dealer adoption. Content Creation & Storytelling: produce persuasive, clear, and engaging communications across websites, blogs, email campaigns, presentations, and more for dealership leadership and sales teams. Tech to Story Translation: partner with product managers and engineers to convert product roadmaps, release notes, and technical features into clear value stories, visuals, and demos for executive and end‑user audiences. Design & Branding: collaborate with designers (and often act in a design capacity) to create visually compelling marketing materials—slide decks, web pages, user guides, videos—adhere to branding guidelines, and establish visual distinction. Market Research & Positioning: collect dealer insights and data to inform and refine marketing strategies; conduct in‑depth analyses of market dynamics, customer challenges, and competitive offerings to build robust product positioning and differentiation. Presentations & Demonstrations: prepare and deliver sophisticated presentation decks and product demonstrations that mirror leading consumer product launches, articulating compelling value propositions to executives and end users. Metrics & Data‑Driven Improvement: define, monitor, and assess KPIs related to marketing initiatives (lead generation, engagement, conversion), and employ data‑driven approaches—including AI‑enabled analytics—to enhance strategies and maximize ROI. What You Will Have Customer Focus: deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate that insight into tailored solutions. Creativity: proficiency with creative tools and techniques, applying them across diverse business contexts. Effective Communications: strong communication skills to convey ideas, information, and needs accurately. Relationship Management: skill in building and maintaining productive relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. Strategic Thinking: ability to maintain a big‑picture focus and apply organizational acumen to key success factors. Considerations For Top Candidates Bachelor’s degree in marketing and/or communications preferred. Extensive experience creating and executing marketing strategies focused on technical content development. Demonstrated success in developing product narratives, executing go‑to‑market strategies, and promoting adoption of technology‑based products. Ideal experience may include B2B marketing, go‑to‑market, and creative agency work. Graphic Design expertise, including the ability to write and produce PowerPoints, one‑pager content, and other collateral. Sample/Portfolio work required. Proficiency with design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Keynote/PowerPoint, Office 365 Suite) and/or direct creation of marketing collateral. Superior writing and communication capabilities, producing clear, influential copy across technical and narrative formats. Analytical & Data‑Driven: solid foundation in marketing analytics (Google Analytics, etc.), A/B testing, and funnel optimization; adept at interpreting data to inform actions and strategies.
