Core Store Manager Responsibilities

• Operational Management: Overseeing daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring equipment is properly maintained, and maintaining strict brand and cleanliness standards.
• Team Leadership & Staffing: Recruiting, hiring, and training crew members. Managers must build weekly schedules that optimize labor costs while ensuring adequate coverage for peak hours.
• Inventory & Vendor Relations: Monitoring stock levels of ice cream base, mix-ins, and supplies. This includes placing orders with vendors and managing product rotation (FIFO) to minimize waste.
• Financial Oversight: Managing daily sales reports, cash deposits, and POS reconciliations. Managers are often tasked with controlling expenses and meeting specific store budget goals.
• Guest Experience: Resolving customer complaints professionally and ensuring staff execute Cold Stone’s signature interactive service culture.
• Hands-On Production: Unlike some retail roles, Cold Stone managers frequently work alongside the crew, serving customers, making ice cream, and decorating custom cakes.
• Marketing & Growth: Implementing national and local store promotions, and supporting community events such as catering or fundraising. 

Requirements & Skills

• Experience: Most locations prefer 1–3 years of management experience in the food service or retail industry.
• Certification: A  Manager Food Handler's Certification (e.g., ServSafe) is typically required.
• Physical Ability: Managers must be able to stand for long shifts and frequently lift up to 50 lbs
