Job Description

A position is available for a Special Education Intervention Specialist to support kindergarten through second-grade students in a cross-categorical resource room setting. The role involves working with a caseload of up to 12 students, typically around 8, primarily those with autism or developmental disabilities. The classroom operates during school hours from 8:20 AM to 4:10 PM, with paraprofessional support provided.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and delivering individualized lesson plans tailored to students needs
• Writing, reviewing, and updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitoring and documenting student progress regularly, with quarterly reporting
• Leading and participating in IEP meetings to coordinate student support
• Managing daily classroom activities and fostering an inclusive learning environment
• Collaborating with paraprofessionals and other staff to facilitate student success

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education or Intervention Specialist credential
• Experience working with students who have autism or developmental disabilities
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance requirements
• Proven ability to manage a resource room classroom and coordinate support services
• Effective communication skills for engaging with students, families, and team members
• Ability to implement evidence-based instructional strategies for diverse learners

This contract assignment begins immediately and runs through May 29th. The school follows the typical K-12 academic calendar and provides an opportunity to impact young learners educational journeys through focused, specialized instruction.
