Night: 11:00 PM – 7:15 AM (includes 30-minute break)

️⚕️ Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides essential patient care support in a psychiatric inpatient unit. Working under the supervision of nursing staff, the PCT performs clinical and supportive functions such as phlebotomy, EKGs, daily care, and safety monitoring to ensure quality patient outcomes in a mental health care setting.
Must-Have Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Certification:
BLS Certification (Required)
Completion of an approved Patient Care Technician Program (Required)
Experience:
Minimum 1 year as a Nursing Assistant (Required)
At least 1 year experience in psychiatry or a related field (Preferred)
Strong experience in phlebotomy, EKG, and daily cares (Preferred)
️ Key Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with daily living activities: bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding
Monitor patient safety and emotional well-being
Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures
Support mobility, repositioning, and transport of patients
Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
Record vital signs and patient observations
Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with infection control policies
Required Skills
Ability to work effectively with psychiatric patients in a high-acuity setting
Strong observation and interpersonal communication skills
Comfortable working night shifts and in behavioral health environments
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for long periods
Familiarity with Joint Commission (JC) standards (JC L1329)
