General Manager Lalla Grill / El Charrito
Located at The Dunes Promenade by Shea Homes in Marina, CA. The restaurant will consist of two concepts with a shared kitchen. El Charrito will be a quick service restaurant focusing on high turnover counter service with patio seating. Lalla Grill will be a full-service restaurant with approximately 160 seats, full bar, indoor and patio seating. Both concepts will have their own respective storefront entrances and will operate simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications Candidates who do not meet the minimum will NOT be considered. - Minimum 10 years of work experience demonstrating more complex leadership roles.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience as a General Manager with P&L responsibilities.
Position Qualifications - Additional operations and/or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Prior general management experience required.
- Bilingual English and Spanish required.
- Preferred experience in a high volume, fast-paced restaurant with P&L management responsibility.
- High school diploma required, associate degree preferred.
- Food Safety Manager Certification required must complete shortly after hire.
- Exceptional leadership skills ability to motivate, inspire and develop a team.
- Passionate about execution, hospitality, and service.

- Proven ability to solve problems and handle high-stress situations.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and additional shifts as needed.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial calculations.
General Management Job Duties - Report directly to owners and participate in weekly meetings to review operational performance, financials, and staffing. Collaborate with owners to meet financial objectives by forecasting, scheduling, preparing budgets, and reporting and analyzing variances.
- Monthly P&L review and variance analysis.
- Controlling operational costs (labor, COGS, Opex) and promoting efficiency.
- Responsible for managing operating profits and meeting budget targets.
- Coordinating and optimizing front- and back-of-house restaurant operations.
- General administration.
- Overall restaurant operations execution, scheduling, and management of staff.
- Hiring and training new team this is a new restaurant with a unique experience of growing a business from the ground up. Train new employees on proper customer service practices. Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations.
- Oversee restaurant maintenance, including calling service providers and addressing plumbing issues, leaks, or any facility repairs promptly.
- Lead crisis management efforts for emergencies or unexpected operational disruptions.
- Ensure accurate time entry management by regularly checking employee clock-in times and resolving any discrepancies.
Customer Service - Greeting and advising customers.
- Make sure that all employees put Guests First to ensure a respectful and enjoyable environment, satisfied guests, and repeat business.
- Foster positive customer relations.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints.
Human Resources Support - Recruiting, training, and supervising staff.
- Working to create and maintain a respectful and enjoyable environment for employees.
- Conducting performance appraisals and setting targets.
- Optimizing workflow and productivity.
- Help maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings, and implementation of company policy.
- Determine job assignments on a shift-by-shift basis.
- Develop an environment of constant development of associates, including informal shift reviews and participate in the development of written evaluations every six months.
- Hire, train, retain, and develop staff to take on a larger role.
- Manage schedules and shifts.
- Communicate regularly with HR team to ensure paperwork is completed and deadlines are met.
- Ensure employees maintain up-to-date certifications such as Responsible Beverage Service and Sexual Harassment Prevention training.
Supply Chain And Culinary - Collaborate closely with the Head Chef to stay informed on kitchen management.
- Take primary responsibility for ordering and managing front-of-house inventory, including plates, utensils, glassware, and other dining room supplies.
- Monitor product quality and handle vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and consistent standards.
Compliance Health And Safety - Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Establish and maintain policies and protocols.
- Make sure food preparation, handling, and storage guidelines are consistently followed.
Alcohol Program - Ensure compliance with alcohol service policies; oversee bar profitability and training if applicable.
- Communicate closely with Bar Manager regarding liquor licensing, staff training, and operational performance.
Technology - Utilize Toast POS.
- Use enterprise software managing daily sales, scheduling, forecasting, reporting, inventory, and operational oversight.
- Manage online ordering platforms such as DoorDash and ChowNow to streamline delivery and customer service.

A GM also oversees communication, acts as a liaison with other leaderships, and facilitates a focus on the companys culture and values.
Salary & Benefits - Salary range $90K - $110K DOE.
